Further, both options can sit on top of a dental implant. However, this process requires more steps, which the dentist can review during a consultation.

Lastly, both options are durable restoratives that can last for many years. Dental crowns last between five and 15 years, with some known to last up to 25 years, while dental bridges last between five and 15 years. Of course, this varies for each patient and depends on how well they are cared for.

Dental crowns and bridges are incredibly easy to care for. Patients can maintain the same oral hygiene routine as they do for the rest of their natural teeth. However, it is important to note that dental bridges alone require special floss called threaders. Threaders are specially designed to grasp or scoop food debris that may become stuck in the tiny space left at the top of the pontics. Be careful to avoid alcohol-based products, as they can weaken the adhesive.
